Best way to store Nutreat

Store Nutreat the Right Way – The Indian Way!

At Nutreat, we believe in storing foods the way our ancestors did – naturally and without plastics. Nutreat is handcrafted fresh with no preservatives or artificial ingredients, and we recommend the best traditional methods to keep it that way.

How to Store Nutreat for Maximum Freshness:

Since our products are crafted with sensitive, cold processes and are as fresh as homemade, they need special care to maintain their quality. Follow these tips to store Nutreat once you receive it:

1. Glass Containers
The best option for long-term storage (over 6 months). Glass does not react with the food, preserving its aroma and taste. Ideal for all Nutreat recipes, especially if you're storing the product outside India or for longer periods.

2. Ceramic Jars
The second-best option, and the traditional Indian way of storing foods, as these jars also don’t interact with the food. Great for storing Nutreat’s rava-based recipes. Use these if you plan to store for more than 3 months.

3. Stainless Steel
A budget-friendly and practical option. Perfect for storing baby cereals and porridges from Nutreat for up to 3 weeks. For best results, transfer the contents into these containers soon after opening.

Avoid Plastics!
Plastic containers can affect the freshness and taste of Nutreat’s handcrafted foods. Always transfer Nutreat to a clean glass, ceramic, or stainless steel container after opening.

Shelf Life of Nutreat Products:

- Baby Cereals: Best consumed within 6 months from the date of crafting.
- Jams and Cookies: Consume within 2 months for optimal freshness.
- Idli/Dosa Premixes: Shelf life of 3 months.
- Sprouted Flours:  Best within 6 months.

Storage Tips:
- After opening, transfer Nutreat to a clean and dry container.
- Store in a cool, dry place and away from sunlight.
- For longer storage (more than 3 weeks), consider refrigerating after transferring to glass, ceramic, or stainless steel containers if you’re in a warm or humid environment.

For Premium Nutreat Recipes:
If you are storing Nutreat for more than a month, slow roast the recipe, cool it, and store it as suggested above.

For Groceries:
Sun dry your groceries every month for 1-2 days to maintain freshness, then store them in suitable containers.

How to Store Nutreat Jams for Maximum Freshness

Nutreat jams are made with all-natural ingredients and seasonal without preservatives, which makes proper storage essential to maintain their quality and taste.

Storage Tips for Nutreat Jams:

  • Shelf Life: Nutreat jams are best consumed within 2 months of crafting.
  • Refrigeration: Once opened, store the jam in a clean, airtight glass jar and keep it in the refrigerator to maintain its freshness and prevent spoilage.
  • Clean Utensils: Always use a clean, dry spoon when scooping out the jam to avoid introducing moisture or contaminants that may spoil the product faster.
  • Pro Tip: If you want to extend the jam's freshness, ensure it’s stored at a consistent cold temperature and tightly sealed after every use.

With these storage practices, Nutreat retains its quality for up to 14 months in glass containers under optimal conditions.
