Our 4-Signature Steps

Sun Drying

Sun drying is a centuries-old, natural food processing technique that offers several advantages. It plays a vital role in preserving the freshness of ingredients without the need for harmful chemical preservatives, which are often found in processed foods.

Here's why sun drying is a valuable method:

  1. Water Removal: Sun drying effectively removes the right amount of moisture from foods, preventing them from rotting or developing fungi. This process eliminates the necessity for external preservatives.
  2. Enhanced Flavor: While sun drying may take a little more time compared to other methods, it significantly enhances the taste of food during this gradual process.
  3. Nutrient Retention: Sun drying not only infuses food with vitamin D from sunlight but also retains a substantial amount of essential nutrients, fibers, and vitamins.
  4. Natural Pest Control: The sun's heat naturally eliminates harmful particles and pests in the food, if present.
  5. Ease of Process: Sun drying is a relatively simple method that requires minimal effort but yields extraordinary results, both in terms of ease of processing and health benefits.

At Nutreat, we prioritize the use of hand-picked ingredients sourced directly from farms and utilize sun drying as a key step in our food production. This approach ensures that our ingredients remain fresh for extended periods without resorting to preservatives or additives. Additionally, it helps preserve the nutritional value of our ingredients and final products, as compared to the potential nutrient loss caused by microwave heating or other methods.

Sprouting

At Nutreat, we prioritize the use of sprouted grains in our recipes, not only for their digestibility but also for their enhanced nutrient bioavailability. Here's why sprouted grains are exceptional:

  1. Enhanced Digestibility: Sprouting grains improves protein digestibility, making them easier on the stomach.
  2. Increased Vitamin Content: The sprouting process significantly boosts the levels of vitamins, such as A and B.
  3. Rich in Fiber: Sprouted grains are abundant sources of dietary fiber, aiding in digestive health.
  4. Mineral Enrichment: These grains are also enriched with essential minerals while remaining low in calories.
  5. Immunity and Cleansing: Sprouts promote immunity and assist in detoxification, thanks to the presence of chlorophyll.

At Nutreat, we take these sprouted grains a step further. After sprouting, we sun dry them and then carefully claypot roast them. This unique approach not only enhances shelf life but also sets Nutreat apart as a standout product in the market.

Slow Roasting

In the world of slow roasting, the choice of the pot is a well-guarded secret at Nutreat. We meticulously select either clay pots or iron pots, depending on the specific ingredient, because we understand the art behind it.

Our commitment to this art extends production timelines, especially for recipes like Taniya Congee, Nutri28, Seed & Sprout, which feature an abundance of sprouts. Yet, it's a deliberate choice we make to naturally enhance flavor and extend shelf life without the need for any preservatives. This dedication to slow roasting in precisely chosen pots sets Nutreat apart in delivering exceptional taste and quality.

Stone Grinding

Our mission at Nutreat is rooted in the restoration of clean and sustainable food processing techniques. We believe that handcrafting is a vital part of this journey. The use of stone grinders, in particular, not only results in more nutritious foods but also provides employment opportunities for rural women.

While technology has advanced significantly, it has often come at the cost of our health and increased unemployment. We see handcrafting as a way to address these challenges and promote healthier eating habits.

Looking back to the Neolithic age, our ancestors processed their food by hand, grinding rhizomes, grains, and creating nourishing porridges. For centuries, handcrafting remained a common practice, contributing to overall health. Stone grinding, in particular, retains a remarkable 68-82% of nutrient value, compared to machine-made processing, which typically preserves only 12-14%.

Our goal is to revive these traditional processing techniques, benefiting both those who engage in the process and those who enjoy the final products. This approach reflects our commitment to the well-being of all involved in Nutreat's journey.
